You are going to hear a lot of lies, you are going to
hear a lot of nonsense, you are going to hear a lot of
distraction and misdirection...Not just from the Bush cabal
itself, but from the "US regimestream new media" (yes, LNS
foreign correspondent Dunston Woods has moved us from
the term "mainstream" to the term "regimestream") in
a desperate attempt to keep a lid on this
election...Do not be fooled, do not be afraid...Now
you are seeing bogus polls showing the increasingly
unhinged and incredibly shrinking _resident ahead by
double digits. These polls are utterly deceitful in
their design and their predetermined results...Have
you seen one "US regimestream news media" poll that
breaks down the Electoral College math of this
election? No. The two contenders are in Ohio today.
The major network news organizations all carried
stories about their campaigning in Ohio. But not one
of these stories mentioned poll numbers for Ohio or
for Missouri or Fraudida or for New Hampshire. Even
little New Hampshire (were every other state to
remain unchanged from 2000) would deliver the victory
to Kerry-Edwards. No, they cannot show you these
polls because those polls show that the red states are
bleeding red, white and blue. They cannot show you
those polls because there is an Electoral College
Uprising coming...You will also hear the
propapunditgandists drone on about Sen. John F. Kerry
(D-Mekong Delta) going on the offensive because of the
Bush "surge" in the polls. This spin is also a lie.
The LNS knows that for many months JFK was going to
turn up the heat over Labor Day Weekend and continue
to turn it up until it is white hot for the last few
weeks of the campaign. But you do not even get to hear
JFK on the air waves. He has been calling for the
resignation of Rumsfeld for a long time. He has been
speaking out on Abu Ghraib for weeks. He has been
excoriating the Bush abomination on Iraq and the
botched, bungled "war on terror." On Thursday night,
he raised the stinking spectre of the VICE _resident's
Halliburton war-profiteering. Since the close of the
RNC, JFK has made it clear that it is Bush-Cheney who
are "unfit" for command. Now, read what he said in
Akron today, because you will not hear tonight on the
air waves. They want you to think that he is an inept
campaigner, they want you to think that he is being
reactive, they want you to think that he is scrambling
from a place of weakness, they want you to think that
he is not connecting with the US Electorate..You will
only hear the feeblest sound byte available,
the one that serve their purpose of caricaturing him
as they caricatured Al Gore in 2000...Do not be
fooled, do not be afraid...What they want to do now is
scare the formerly red state true blue Republicans and
real Independents back into the fold with negative,
deceitful attacks on JFK's character and record,
depress the Democratic vote by insinuating that JFK
cannot win with deceitful, and very well-cooked
"polls," and, in general, turn the sound down on the
campaign itself as much as possible -- all with the
goal of limiting the turn-out on election day in
November...Feast on this excerpt from JFK on the
stump, feast on how he rips into the increasingly
unhinged and incredibly shrinking _resident as well as
the "US regimestream news media," savor it, because
you will not hear it on the air waves, they dare not
play it...Your candidate is a hero, a warrior, a hunter and a prosecutor...Your candidate is an expert on BCCI and Iran-Contra...Your candidate has been one of the most progressive members of the US Senate for the last 20 years...He is doing his part, but each of us must do ours, by winning hearts and minds all around us...
Patricia Wilson, Reuters: "He promised again a couple
of nights ago to strengthen Medicare," Kerry told a
rally at a baseball stadium in Akron. "Then you wake
up when a lot of the news is being hidden by what's
happening in the hurricane down in Florida, what's
happening in Russia with 200 people tragically killed
by terrorists."
The centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services
announced at the start of the Labor Day weekend that
the elderly will pay $78.20 per month for non-hospital
services, up $11.60 from $66.60 this year.
"The news is hidden but it isn't going to be hidden for long on Americans, because what they did yesterday was this president made history twice," Kerry said.
"They're trying to fake it to the American people," he
said. "They're trying to bamboozle you and throw
around so much mud that you can't really break through
and grab onto the things that are real in your lives."
The Massachusetts senator said that with the release
of anemic August jobs growth, Bush would become the
first president since Herbert Hoover "to be absolutely
certain on Election Day to have not created one single
new job."
"And ... medical premiums go up for senior citizens 17
percent, the largest increase in Medicare premiums for
40 years," Kerry said. "Who are they going to send the
bill to? They're going to send the bill to our senior
citizens, they're going to send the bill to all of
you."

Kerry: Bush Aims to 'Bamboozle,' Hide Medicare News
Sat Sep 4, 2004 01:51 PM ET
By Patricia Wilson
AKRON, Ohio (Reuters) - Democrat John Kerry rebuked
President Bush on Saturday for trying to "bamboozle"
U.S. voters and burying the largest increase in
Medicare history with an announcement at the start of
a long holiday weekend amid a rush of news at home and
abroad.
Kerry questioned the timing of the Bush
administration's announcement late on Friday that
older Americans will have to pay about 17 percent more
next year for their government-run health insurance.
"He promised again a couple of nights ago to
strengthen Medicare," Kerry told a rally at a baseball
stadium in Akron. "Then you wake up when a lot of the
news is being hidden by what's happening in the
hurricane down in Florida, what's happening in Russia
with 200 people tragically killed by terrorists."

FIGHTING BACK
Kerry, shown by separate Time and Newsweek magazine
polls to be trailing Bush by 11 percentage points two
months before the election, launched a scathing
indictment of Bush's record on everything from jobs
and health care to Iraq and said the president's time
had run out.
"We've got to tell them on Nov. 2, 'You're four years
too late and it's over!"' he said.
Kerry returned to the offensive after his character,
20-year voting record in the U.S. Senate and service
in Vietnam were questioned by Republicans at their
convention in New York.
After a slow initial response, Kerry is fighting back
fiercely against ads run by a group called Swift Boat
Veterans for Truth that accuse him of lying about his
Navy record in Vietnam and attack comments he made
later as a leader of the anti-war movement.
Kerry received three Purple Hearts for wounds and a
Silver and Bronze star for bravery in Vietnam. U.S.
Navy records support his version of events.
He declared he would not stand by and have his
credentials as commander in chief questioned by Bush
and Cheney, who did not serve in Vietnam. The
Democratic mayor of Akron, Don Plusquellic, went a
step further and accused the president of "hiding in
the woods" while Kerry served his country.
"The simple truth is John Kerry was in Vietnam and
George Bush wasn't," Plusquellic told the crowd in
Ohio, a critical battleground state. "It's as simple
as that. George Bush was hiding in the woods in
Alabama when John Kerry was defending our country."
Bush served in the Texas Air National Guard during the
Vietnam War. At one point he transferred to the
Alabama National Guard but critics say he dodged some
of his service there.
